EMOHS Mission Statement

To support UMDNJ's mission by protecting and enabling a safe, healthful, and well-prepared environment for the University and its community, and by promoting compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and practices. EMOHS will achieve this by providing and coordinating leadership, education, and technical services in the areas of environmental and occupational health, safety, and emergency management.

From Brendan McCluskey, Executive Director (6-January-2012):

I am proud and honored to announce that Marta Figueroa, MS, CIH, ABD, has been selected as the Director of EOHSS within the EMOHS department.  This appointment is effective on Monday January 9, 2012.  She will oversee biosafety, industrial hygiene, and environmental management as major units within the EOHSS division.  As you know, Marta has been serving in the acting director role since November 2011, and she brings over 20 years of experience, including many in leadership roles, to the position.  All of Marta’s contact information will remain the same.
